Al Qalam Schools’ Director of Academics bagged another degree

In a bid to expand her knowledge and to add more values to the school, the Director of Academics at Al Qalam Schools, Mrs Otun Rukayah Abimbola have completed her Degree in Education and graduate recently at Lead City University.

Mrs. Otun who was excited to be part of this year Lead City University graduates, which was tagged Enterprise Graduates is a graduate of Business Administration but her passion for education motivated her to start a scholarly journey in the field of education, she therefore bagged National Certificate in Education (NCE) at Oyo State College of Education in 2011 and thereafter made a move towards degree in Education which she completed early this year (2020) and convocation ceremony held December 2020.

Mrs Otun Rukayah Abimbola has been holding strategic position within the school over years, managing the School’s operations with her excellent leadership skill among other soft skills. She is a Game Changer and as an “Enterprise graduate” who equally graduated in Business Administration, she kept the School moving online during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Mrs Otun has fifteen years (15) teaching experience but certified as Teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) on 9th November, 2016. Whereas her leadership experience, knowledge and skills as a Co-Director is now over a decade. On this, she remarked that successes recorded in office so far came from the supreme Allah (God) through the understanding and supports of Management, Staff and Parents of Al Qalam Schools.


In a chat with our correspondent, she said it was a very challenging but worthy journey. Her words: “It was highly challenging to plan & monitor the School’s activities at Al Qalam Schools along with the study and family affairs. The journey was tough and rough but Allah gave me strength to excel in hardship.

“It’s my joy to appreciate my immediate family (husband and children) for their supports. The motivation and courage received from my husband can never be measured, I sincerely appreciate his moral and financial supports throughout the programme. Anyway the journey just began; may Allah in HIS infinite mercies grants me favour to fulfill my mission, which is to earn PhD.”
