Al Qalam Schools equipped staff with First Aid Skill

A leading Islamic school in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State known as Al Qalam Schools has trained her staff on First Aid Awareness. The event which is meant to equip the member of staff with the right First Aid knowledge took place on Thursday, 2nd of February at the school premises and was facilitated by Dr. Basher Habibullah Adewale.

The Director of Academics, Hajia Otun Rukayat Abimbola said the training is meant to equip their staff with First Aid skills. Her words: “Today’s capacity development training on First Aid was approved by the Management towards the end of last term, sometime in December 2022, and intentionally designed the training session to equip staff on many areas not limited to; practical ways of applying CPR to any casualty, how to move the casualty to recovery position, how to identify choking person and methods of helping, practical first aids to bruise and cut, how to treat the wound with an embedded foreign object(s) and infection prevention while treating any casualty.

Some of the participants that interacted with our correspondent at the training remarked positively to affirm gains from the school’s organized practical First Aids course. One of them, Mrs. AbdulRashed said “the training was quite helpful and I must say all teachers out there should acquire First Aid skills since we are learners’ guardians.”

“I am impressed with the entire course contents and the expressive speech delivered by Alhaja (Mrs.) Kudirat Aderibigbe. It is never an overstatement to say, Dr. Basheer Adewale, delivered the course perfectly with the most appropriate methodology and demos,” another participant Mr. Soliu Badmus asserted.

On behalf of the staff, the Vice Principal Academics, Mr. Idris Afolabi thanked the Management for having great interest in learners’ safety, staff as well as parents’ well being. The School Administrator, Mr. Abdul’mumin Olalekan Ajala said the Management specially thank Alhaja Kudirat Aderibigbe for her consistent and many years of moral support to the school adding that the Management is planning to unveil more learners’ centered activities and value-added events at key stakeholders’ advantage.
