Alhaja Kenny donate borehole to Legun Community School

Promised to employ 2 teachers for the school and take care of their salaries

Legun Community agog as Alhaja Kehinde Usman Ere popularly called Alhaja Kenny took her philanthropist gesture to another level by constructing a borehole for Legun Community School. The borehole which is meant to serve Community Primary School, Legun in particular and the community in general is a great relief for the residents of the community as many of them lack access to portable water.

Alhaja Kenny while addressing the residents at the commissioning of the project on Sunday said the project was executed with the support of her children saying she is doing this to encourage others to do same. Her words: “I am not doing this for show off or to impress anyone but to encourage others to always give back to the society with whatever they have. It is not necessary you have a lot before giving back to the society.”

The Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Ayoola applauded Alhaja Kenny for always being there for the school. She said Alhaja have once called her that she should let her know the less privileged pupils in the school that should would love to sponsor their education adding that Alhaja Kenny has also built 3 blocks of toilet for the school. She urged members of the community to continue to support the school for greater development and impact saying the school does not have enough teachers and the parents are not supportive enough as they don’t use to turn up for Parents Teachers Association (PTA) meetings.

Alhaja Kenny while responding to the Head Teacher’s speech promised to employ 2 teachers in order to improve learning experience of the pupils. “For a start, let’s employ 2 teachers and I will be paying their salaries. Any child that did not have uniform and exercise books should be enrol in the school, we will provide such child uniform and exercise books, Alhaja Kenny added.”

The Tefsir of Legun Town, Shaykh Mojeed Balogun in his speech described Alhaja Kenny as an Angel sent to Legun Town and pray that Almighty God will continue to be with her and continue to bless her. He then urged other wealth people in the community to emulate and support her.

The Lukosi of Legun Town, Chief Ibrahim Tijani who represented the Baale of the Town at the event commended Alhaja Kenny for a well done job and for always being there for the community. He also admonished the Head Teacher of the school to ensure that the project is use judiciously and maintain properly.

Legun Town is a rural community located in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State. The community, like many other communities in Ogun State, lack basic social amenities such as good road network, portable water, basic health care as well as electricity.
