
Brilliance and Purposeful Foundation empowered over 70 women in Egbeda
The Brilliance and Purposeful Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization has empowered more than Seventy (70) women in the Egbeda community in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. The project which took place at the Egbeda major market on Thursday 16th December 2021 catered for vulnerable women, widows, and low-income earners. The event which featured free distribution of foodstuffs, entrepreneurial training sessions, financial/business development advisory services and access to business grants had in attendance various stakeholders within the Egbeda community as well as executives of the Egbeda major market.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Korede David, who was represented by the Program Manager, Kunle Ajayi said that the foundation aims at empowering the less privileged in the society, as the women play a very vital role in strengthening the nation. He further stated their commitment to helping and protecting the boy child as well as women from low-income households/communities in Lagos State and Nigeria. Kunle also told the women to involve their children in their business saying this will further ensure the sustainability of the business as well as reduce unemployment as the children will bring new innovations into the business.

Elizabeth Annam, one of the key facilitators at the event charged the women not to spend their capital. She explained to the women that they need to separate their profit from their capital so as not to go bankrupt because it is very easy to spend both capital and profit if care is not taken.
Showing their appreciation, one of the participants, Mrs. Fadairo Bukola said, she is so full of appreciation to the Brilliance and Purposeful Foundation for this show of love, particularly in December. She said the foodstuffs, as well as the training, would go a long way to help their families, as well as their business, thrive especially during this difficult economic period. Also, a widow, Mrs. Joy (Mama Ejima), was so full of appreciation. She thanked the organizers for remembering them and reaching out to them during this yuletide season. She said the foodstuffs, the business grant, and the training would transform her business and her children.

The secretary of the Egbeda major market and Banlatiwi of Egbeda land, Chief Abdulraheem Sulaimon thanked the Brilliance and Purposeful foundation for helping the women, especially in this crucial season. He expressed his appreciation to the organizer and charged them to do more. He also admonished the government to help the women because the suffering is too much. He added that any help rendered to the women will really ameliorate their pains and cushion the effects of the economy on them.
