CAN Matogbun Area induct new executives

In a bid to further spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Matogbun and environs, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Matogbun Area has inducted new executives that will take charge of the affairs of the organization for another three (3).

The induction that took place on Thursday, 26th of November, 2020 at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ayo Anipekun, Matogbun was well attended by prominent Christian leaders both at the Area and at the LCDA such as; Senior Pastor Oni, Pastor Samuel Olufemi (Secretary, CPFN/PFN, Agbado Oke Aro), Apostle Ojo, Elder Solomon (PRO, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA and Pastor Okedara. Others are Rev. Majayogbe (Vice Chairman, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA), Prophet E. O. Olawuyi, Pastor Dada, Apostle Paul Ajewole (Secretary, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA), Pastor Emmanuel Gbenga Taiwo (Chairman, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA) as well as Elder Popoola (Grand Patron, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA).

Pastor Ojetayo while presenting the new executives of Matogbun Area to the LCDA on behalf of the outgoing chairman, Superior Evangelist Sotuminu Ademola who passed on 10th of January, 2020 said he is going so with mix feelings. Prayers was offered to the deceased and a minute silent was observed in his honour.

CAN Chairman, Agbado Oke Aro LCDA, Pastor Emmanuel Gbenga Taiwo in his sermon titled ‘where are you’ said whenever someone do anything against the will of God, it means such person has derailed and has follow the foot step of Adam and Eve. He then admonished the new executives to do the needful in order to move the Area forward adding that things will not turn around until they started doing the right thing. “According to the book of John chapter 17 verse 21; that if you work together, the seaway of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the God the father will work together and be one in team so that they can move mountain”, Pastor Taiwo asserted.

The new Chairman, Rev. Olasupo Sunday Ayofe in his acceptance speech appreciated Almighty God for His calling upon him and those who supported him one way or the other. Part of his speech reads: “I want to faithfully thank God, the Almighty, for the privilege of His calling upon me. To Him alone be the glory. My thanks goes to my bloc (CCN) that approve my nomination, my local Church Assembly, Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Matogbun, other blocs that form CAN for their support at all times, our mother – Olambe Area CAN and all members of Matogbun Area CAN for the confidence repose in me. I hereby on behalf of this team acknowledge the responsibility to lead this team by the grace of God for another 3 years.

“Therefore, this team appreciate all that are present here today. May God reward you bountifully for the time spared to witness this induction programme. On behalf of this team, I want to appeal to all to support us with your prayers on daily basis. To Matogbun Area CAN, I want to appeal that we should all wake up, come together as a body to brighten the light of Christianity in Matogbun and environs.

“Note that we need money to operate, but money is not everything, your piece of advice can go a long way to move us forward. I am also appealing to those who are yet to join this body to change their mind and be part of this Christian body.”

Rev. Olasupo rounded up his speech by appreciating the induction committee. His words: “I will not be doing justice if I fail to recognize the labour of the induction committee, headed by Pastor Ojetayo S. O., I say thank you all for your time and resources spared to make today a reality. You all people will not know sorrow in life in Jesus name.”

Matogbun Unit Chairman, Superior Evangelist Adeleke in an interview with our correspondent describe the event as a fantastic one that went as planned. He then advised the new executives to be united and speak in one voice.

Pastor Adeleke Kolawole, Director, Legal and Public Affairs, OIAC said he is optimistic that the new executives will contribute meaningfully to the propagation of Christianity in Matogbun and environs. “My advise to the new executives In Matogbun Area and also the LCDA is to come together and drive together as a force, in love and bring things together that will make Matogbun to be reckoned with in other society as an Area,” Pastor Adeleke added.
