Group inaugurate new executives.

Ifo Local Government to take over the Community Health Centre Project, complete it, supply necessary equipment and personnel.

Saturday, 30th of May, 2020 was indeed a joyous day for the good people of Maidan, a rural community situated in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State as the Pioneer Chairman of the Group Of CDAs, Alhaji S. A. Adeagbo completed his tenure and handed over to new executives that will administer the affairs of the Group for another 3 years.

In his handover note, Alhaji Adeagbo thank Almighty God for His protection and guidance. He equally appreciate those that contributed one way or the other to the success of his administration. Part of his handover note reads:

“I congratulate the new chairman and other members of the team selected to lead and direct the affairs of our Group for the next three years. I pray that God Almighty will grant you the strength, wisdom and knowledge required to move the Group to a greater height.

“For the outgoing executive members, the journey (six years – mandatory two terms allowed by the constitution) started in 2014 from Universal 2 Group, before the emergence of Maidan United Group of CDAs in May 2016. I am grateful to God that all of us are still alive till today.

“Maidan United is an affiliate of Matogbun Area CDC. Our relationship has been very cordial. I therefore enjoin you to build on this existing cordial relationship in the interest of our Group.

“Situation report (Ongoing projects) – Health; Glory be to Almighty God, the Health Centre Building has been completed to a stage where it can conveniently be used to render primary health care services to members of our various communities. I am happy to state that Ifo Local Government under the leadership of Honourable Fola Salami has conveyed an approval to take over the project, complete it, supply necessary equipment and personnel to make the Health Center functional. This, however, will not preclude us from making further contributions to the development of the building. Our patron, Alhaji K. A. Ashafa is the Building Committee Chairman, his integrity has really contributed to our success.

“Transformer: As unanimously agreed and directed, the Group recently purchased a 300 KVA transformer. This happened before Ikeja Electric finally replaced the spoilt Ijisesan transformer after more than two years of darkness. We have been reliably informed that the transformer might, sooner than expected, not be able to cope with our increasing population, hence, the need to prioritize the energizing of our transformer. We have received provisional approval of the project from Ikeja Electric via a letter dated 22/01/2020 addressed to our Project Contractor – Aduke Olowo Ventures Limited. Olusho R. Ajibade from Unity Estate CDA is the Committee Chairman. He played a commendable leadership role.

“Market: We have a piece of land on Maidan Road donated by the family of Baale Maidan, Chief Yahaya Ekemode for Community Market, the Group has done everything possible within available resources to get the market functional, but our people’s reluctant, especially the market women to move to the market site has not help us. We need to restrategise. The Chairman of Unity Estate CDA, Alfa Ishola is the Market Committee Development Chairman, he has done his best so far.

“In addition to this handover note, I am handing over the following official documents in my custody to you (The new chairman):

  1. Letter dated 27/11/2014 from Oluwo Opeifa Family transferring the ownership of a piece of land to the Group (Universal 2 now Maidan United) for Community Health Centre.
  2. Deed of Gift from Bankole Ekemode Family conveying the transfer of a piece of land to the Group for market purpose.
  3. Our letter dated 02/10/2017 to the Resident Electoral Commission requesting for Polling Unit in Maidan and the Commission’s response dated 11/10/2017. We may need to follow up.
  4. A letter ref: IFLG. 145/Vol.1/45 dated 05/02/2020 from Ifo Local Government conveying its decision to take over the Health Centre Building.
  5. A copy of letter from Ikeja Electric dated 22/01/2020 addressed to Aduke Olowo Ventures conveying provisional approval of our Electricity Project.”

On behalf of the Group and entire members, I appreciate the unparallel contributions of the CEO, Garu Technologies Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Lukman Garu to the development of Maidan Community, may Almighty God continue to guide him.
