Community agog as they get new transformer after 17 months of darkness

21st of May, 2019 was indeed a joyous day for the people of Maidan, a developing community in Agbado Oke Aro LCDA, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State has they bought a brand new 500 KVA transformer. The community has been out of electricity supply since December 2017 when their 300 KVA transformer developed fault and taken away by Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) for repair since then.

The Group Chairman, Maidan United Group of CDAs, Alhaji Ademola Adeagbo in an exclusive interview with our correspondent appreciate God for the achievement and commended the people of the community for their unflinching efforts.

“This is what I have been expecting, we have waited a long time to achieve this objective and now that we achieve this, we thank God. This is achieve through community effort, this is our own, we should protect the interest, everybody should pay their bills, there should be no illegal connection so that it will not get spoil again.” Adeagbo added.

Another community leader, Elder J. O Akeju popularly called Baba Soja said “Today is a joyous day for all of us because we have been able to achieve our aim of getting a new transformer due to our community effort when IKEDC failed us.”

“Baba Soja” then admonished the people of Maidan to cooperate with one another and that they should know that gone are those days that electricity sector is run by the government adding that the DISCO are private companies who are meant to make profit.
