Community leaders brainstorm at Olambe ACDC meeting

The good people of Olambe Area Community Development Committee (CDC) came out in their large number on Thursday, 17th of October, 2019 to interact and brainstorm on how to move their community forward. The meeting which was hosted by Treasure Group 10 of CDAs took place at Olambe Town Hall and was well attended by prominent personalities as well as community leaders.

The chairman, Treasure Group 10 of CDAs, Mr. Awelewa Taiwo Simeon in his welcome address, appreciate everyone present at the meeting, the past administration of the Area CDC, led by Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde (RTD) popularly called Captain BEK as well as the present administration, led by Comrade Omolade Akinade Ganiyu and highlighted some of the challenges confronted by the Group Of CDAs such as inter-group relationship, roads, flood, security as well as electricity.

The chairman, Olambe Area CDC, Comrade Omolade Akinade Ganiyu while responding to the group chairman’s welcome address, commended him and his team for a well done job. The chairman then urged CDA chairmen and other executives to attend the upcoming Sha Sha course, saying anyone that did not possess the course certificate is not qualify to hold any executive position in the CDA. He also admonished unregistered CDAs to get registered as soon as possible so that they can be recognize and be entitle to grant whenever the opportunity comes up adding that each CDA need to register with both state and local government.

The immediate past chairman of Olambe Area CDC, Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde while addressing the gathering admonished them to be attending meeting regularly in order to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the community in terms of funds and other resources.

Issues discussed at the meeting include; health, security, women development as well as electricity (Chat with officials of Ikeja Electric Distribution Company).
