Community Youth Football Competition: Word of war between Akera CDC FC and Orudu CDC FC
There is word of war going on between Akera CDC FC and Orudu CDC FC as both teams are bragging to defeat one another in the final of “long suspended” Agbado Oke Aro LCDA football competition tagged “Community Youth Football Competition.”
Shakiru Mogaji, coach, Akera CDC FC in an interview with our correspondent said “You have not see the best of my boys because some of them are not around today, you will see them at the final. We are beating Orudu CDC FC hands down by God’s grace because I believe in God and my boys.” Mogaji also appreciate Hon Ganiyu Alani Oyedeji aka GOCO for sponsoring the competition, he said “We also appreciate GOCO for bringing this competition back to life because this competition has been suspended since last year March.”
On the other hand, the captain of Orudu CDC FC, Sunday Onasade said “I am sure we are going to win the final by God’s grace because we have work hard for this competition and is not easy to get to the final.” Onasade who also expressed his view about the competition have this to say “The competition is well organized and is going on smoothly but we are not happy that the competition was suspended for almost a year but we still have to play the games. We are also delighted with the level of support we receive from our supporters and they should continue to support us.”
The captain of Akera CDC FC, Abiodun Akolawole in an interview with our correspondent said “I am happy that we win this match and get to the final but I am not happy that the competition was suspended for a while. I also admonished our fans to keep supporting us so that we can win the trophy.”
Mr Kunle Onifade who also interact with our correspondent commended the organizers of the competition for a well done job, adding that the competition is going on smoothly and said he look forward to see good football from both teams in the final. When asked his view about suspending the competition, he said “The suspension of the competition since last year March is a disappointment to the community as a whole as we the community are not happy but we manage it. I urge them (Organizers) to plan very well before organizing any competition most especially for the communities.”
Orudu CDC FC defeated Lemode CDC FC 5 – 6 on penalty shootout to get to the final, while Akera CDC FC defeated IMA CDC FC with 1 – 0 win to get to the final. The third place between Lemode CDC FC and IMA CDC FC; novelty match between Political Office Holders and Community Leaders as well as the final between Akera CDC FC and Orudu CDC FC will come up on Thursday, 7th of March, 2019 at Anglican Church Primary School, Agbado starting from 2 pm.
