COSMETIC GRADING OF FEW ROADS AT OLAMBE, MATOGBUN AND OKE ARO: ANOTHER GIMMICK BY ANTI-POOR POLITICAL PARTIES TO STEAL OUR VOTES IN ORDER TO AGAIN NEGLECT US FOR ANOTHER FOUR YEARS

The candidate of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) for Ogun State House of Assembly, Ifo constituency II, Comrade Hassan Taiwo Soweto, has called on the people of the constituency not to be deceived by the recent cosmetic grading of some roads at Olambe, Matogbun and Oke-Aro axis of the constituency by the APM and PDP. This cosmetic grading is merely a political stunt by failed anti-poor capitalist politicians to deceive the people once again.

According to the candidate, “For four good years, the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led APC State Government and the incumbent lawmaker for Ifo constituency II who is now seeking re-election on the platform of the hastily – conceived APM, Honourable Ganiyu Oyedeji, failed the people in the area of provision of good roads and other basic public infrastructures. Honourable Ganiyu Oyedeji not only failed to mount a stout campaign within the Assembly chambers to bring development to Ifo despite formerly being in the same party with the state governor, he also did nothing to ensure periodic maintenance of the roads especially during raining season. Rather this became the responsibility of the CDAs and CDCs. It is now the same Honourable Ganiyu Oyedeji and his new party – the APM – who are now behaving as if they love the people. This election must be used to teach these cash and carry politicians a lesson. The long-suffering people of Ifo must take a decision to vote out all anti-poor parties and candidates directly or remotely responsible for the abject conditions in our constituency”.

Comrade Hassan Taiwo Soweto described the grading as another gimmick by anti-poor political parties to steal votes with the aid of deception and tricks in order to neglect the people for another four years.

Speaking further, Comrade Hassan Taiwo Soweto urged the people to reject the Greek gift. Otherwise the consequence will be another four years of neglect. “My challenge to the workers, youth, traders, transporters, farmer and masses of Ifo is they should not allow themselves to be deceived once again. As they say, once beaten twice shy. There is no difference between the APC and the APM. Infact the APC, PDP, ADC and APM are simply four fingers of a leprous hand”.

He also said that “only the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) has a workable manifesto to ensure provision of basic infrastructures in the constituency because we believe that the wealth of Ogun State can ensure provision of basic infrastructures across the length and breadth of the state if such wealth is put under workers democratic control and management. My primary mission is to go into the Ogun State House of Assembly to build a movement to fight for development for Ifo II. To achieve this, I will utilize all the powers of a lawmaker to make a case before the Assembly for development to come to Ifo II. However and especially where this fails, I as a socialist legislator shall also be ready to lead protest marches and demonstration until government listens to our cry. I shall also serve as a bold voice for workers, students, youth, traders, farmers and the poor masses across the length and breadth of Ogun State”.

The candidate while urging the people of their consistency to use the next election to cast protest vote against all the anti-poor political parties responsible for the neglect of the constituency also used the opportunity to wish all residents compliment of the season.
