The teeming residents and stakeholders of Araromi Oke Odo Area CDC were highly disappointed as the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Hon Dimeji Bankole failed to show up in a meeting organized by Good Guidance Forum (GGF).
Community Gist gathered that the governorship candidate, who was a former Speaker of Nigeria House of Representatives suppose to interact with the residents on Sunday 20th of January, 2019 in a bid to present his manifesto to them.
Community Gist also learnt that some residents arrived Idi Osan, venue of the meeting as early as 3pm for a meeting scheduled for 4pm but were highly disappointed to see the representatives of the governorship candidate at the meeting around 5pm, which did not go down well with the people as they wish to interact with the candidate himself.
Woman Leader of GGF, Mrs Fowosere Shakirat who expressed her disappointment in an interview with our correspondent have this to say:
“We are disappointed that the aspirant is not here because we wish to see him so that we can talk at length, what he want to offer us in this community. Up till yesterday evening, our chairman called him, promising that he will be coming. We waited here, waiting for him to come, he did not come. The representatives of the governorship candidate had made us to know that what they have for us is mass employment for our youths, nothing else but we want to hear from the horses mouth. We want to hear directly from the incoming governor because it can be denied that he didn’t send them to say that.”
Recall that Matogbun residents were also disappointed on Monday, 14th of January, 2019 when Dapo Abiodun, gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) toured Ifo constituency 2 but failed to visit their community.
The questions on lips of many residents of these communities are:
Are we recognized? Will any of these aspirants, if elected provide any dividend of democracy for us?
