Fatiu Folawewo Salami Gold Cup kick start with style
Youth in Ifo Constituency II came out in their large number to show case their skills at the maiden edition of Hon Fatiu Folawewo Salami Gold Cup. The event which took place at St. Peters Primary School, Oke Aro had several dignitaries and party faithfuls in attendance, which include Chief (Mrs) Bosede Olabiran, Mr Adewoyin Kayode, Alhaji Lasisi, Alhaja Korodo, Alhaji Tairu as well as Hon Alimi.
According to Fatiu Folawewo Salami Media Team, the football competition, an Initiative of the Hon vying to represent the people of Ifo constituency II at Ogun State House of Assembly is to help propagates All Progressives Congress (APC) agenda for the youth as well as fostering unity amongst the youth of Ifo constituency II.
Dignitaries who interacted with our correspondent have this to say:
Mr Adewoyin Kayode said “with the turn out of the youth today, it shows that the youth of the constituency are solidly behind Fola Salami. Come March, victory is sure and certain. Fola Salami have been doing this even before he pick up ticket to contest, he will never change, he will continue. That is why the youth and everybody are behind him, he will not change, he will only improve from years to come, I can assure you that.
“Am impress at the rate at which the youth are coming up and the way they are engaged and I can see the enthusiasm and even the intelligent that they are exhibiting is something we must support. Am seeing them going very very far and APC is about engaging the youth, supporting them, developing them and am sure, if they key into it, definitely the sky is just the beginning. It is a dream that it must come true and will continue to improve each year.”
Chief (Mrs) Bosede Olabiran commended Fola Salami for a well done job and admonished him to continue the good job, adding that, if elected, youth development will be his major priority.
Alhaja Korodo said she is not surprise saying they have been expecting this kind of programme from him because Fola Salami has vision for the youth, not just to bring them out for election alone.
“This programme will make the youth to have sense of belonging that they are not political thugs, that they have vision and mission. Is going to add values to their life and future by the grace of God, she added.”
