FFS Advices Youths As Ishaga FC Clinches First Title of Fatiu Fola Salami Football Competition

The finals of the maiden edition of Hon. Fatiu Folawewo Salami  (FFS) Gold Cup competition ended in favour of Ishaga FC from Ishaga/Idi Osan Zone, after the match ended in a single goal decider, against Mighty Confidence of Lambe Zone on Saturday 2nd March, 2019 at Saint Peters Primary School field, Oke-Aro.

The only goal which decided the game was scored at the first half of the game by Ishaga FC exactly 15mins into play. After series of attempts by Mighty confidence team to level up the score it all ended in deadlock as chances created wasn’t enough as the goolkeepr of the Ishaga FC proved to be a superclass stopper. He made series of saves that gave his team the trophy at the end.

Hon. Fatiu Folawewo Salami who is the APC candidate for Ifo constituency II, House of Assembly seat in his declaration speech  before the kick-off of the match stated that “As we know football unites almost everyone, it promotes peaceful co-existence, it also shun tribal and religious  stunts and above all it fosters passion for tomorrow football lovers who sees sport as a career path.

Hon. Fola Salami also emphasize the need for youths to engage in good sporting activities so that they can be productive rather than involving themselves in numerous social vices or crimes.

He also used the avenue to promise the youths that he will continue to host the competition year in, year out  and make youth a priority in his government if elected as an Assembly member.

He said ” I will like to foster meaniful synergy between the youth and I, the youth is the future, they represent a sizeable number that can not be neglected. They are tomorrow’s leader and as you can see I’m a youth. I promise to host this competition and as well make it comprehensive in subsequent editions.

Award and prices were handed over to the best player of the tournament, the highest goal scorer, the best goalkeeper and so also the first, second and third place teams.

The final was graciously attended by agile youths ,sport lovers and onlookers across Ifo constituency II. Also in attendance were chieftains of APC and its members of APC, CDC leaders, community leaders and so on.
