GIF, ZEVOTRAI empowered 55 people, celebrate them in grand style

In their tireless effort to lift people out of poverty and to make them be their own bosses, Al Ghiyyath Islamic Foundation (GIF) in conjunction with Zeekay Vocational Training Institute (ZEVOTRAI) has just added 55 people to the list of their beneficiaries/graduates as they empowered them with vocational skills such as hair styling, catering and events management, decorations and events management, dressmaking, makeup, and makeover, as well as soap making and other products.

The graduation ceremony that took place after 2 weeks of intensive free training was held on the 25th of February, 2020 at Fun City, Ikorodu.

In her welcome address, the Coordinator of Al – Ghiyyath Islamic Foundation and the CEO of Zeekay Vocational Training Institute, Seidah Zeenat Abiola Kalejaye who was ably represented by the Manager of the institute, Mr. Funsho John, admonished the graduands to make use of the opportunity given to them very well and they should try as much as possible to pay back to the society and impact in other people’s life. Seidah also used the medium to shed more light on what the organization does and their achievements. She said:

“Al – Ghiyyath Islamic Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in the year 2006 with the sole mission of putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged in our society using her four components listed below:

“Al-Ghiyyath Islamic Foundation Empowerment (GIFE); this comes up annually in the month of March / April. The purpose is to train people free in different areas of vocational skills such as decorations, catering, makeup/makeover, bead making, dressmaking, soap making, among others.

“Health is Wealth (HIW): Our NGO organizes a free health screening on diabetes, HIV, de -worming of children and free distribution of eyeglasses, we take this annual free medical exercise to different localities every year.

“Fasting Without Stress (FWS): This exercise also comes up during the month of Ramadan every year. Free clothing items and re-bagged food stuffs are given out to less privileges especially the widows and the orphans. We have a new additional project at hand; Motherless Babies Homes, so we need more hands, cash and bus.

“Our achievements: This year GIFE marks the seventh of its kind where over three hundred people have benefited from the free training so far, likewise thousands of people have also benefitted from the free health screening as well as free distribution of clothes and food stuffs during the Ramadan period. So far, Allah has being our help and still helping us.”

Seidah rounded up her speech by appreciating those that have been supporting the organization since inception. “I will have to give honour to whom honour is due, despite his absence, the Chairman of Al – Ghiyyath Islamic Foundation and ZEVOTRAI in person of Shaykh Muslihudeen A. Kalejaye, he has been a strong backbone to us all these years, thank you for always being there.

“To our trustees, your support can not be over emphasized, Alhaja Khadijah Ayanwale, Alhaja Khadijah Daodu (Former Chairman of SUBEB), Senator Ganiu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), who happens to be the pioneer of this annual free training. May Almighty Allah reward you and grant you every of your heart desires and crown your effort on the day of resurrection with Al – Janatul – Fridaus (amen). I will like to say a big thank you to all the executive members of Aenur – Rahmah International Islamic Society of Nigeria, may Almighty Allah appreciate you more.

“To all our instructors and my manager, Mr. Funsho John. I really appreciate you all for your cooperation and understanding, you guys are the best. She added.”

One of the Special Guest of Honour, Engineer Jamiu Adebayo while addressing the graduands admonished them to develop themselves more with continuous learning saying it only those with skills that survive in today’s economy. He also urged them to impact others with the knowledge they acquired just as ZEVOTRAI has impacted them.

Another Special Guest of Honour in person of Alhaji Abdul Hakeem Agbaje congratulate the graduands and urged them to value the knowledge that has been impacted on them by the institute. “This is a limestone in what you are doing, I will want you to appreciate this, you might not have paid much for the knowledge that has been impacted on you but believe you me, if you are very careful with what you have learned, this might be what will catapult you to greater height, he added.”

Mayor Muhideen Sanwoola, CEO, Fun City, in his goodwill message, admonished the graduands to take charge of their life adding that having the certificate is not enough and that they should not cut corners saying their brand is very matters.

Dignitaries at the event include; Alhaja Kafilat Kalejaye, Alhaja Amdalat Muhammed Awwal, Hajia Morufat Iyabowale Kazeem( NIPCO/MAKAL), Alhaja Ganiyat Elesho, Mrs. Selimat Osintade, Alhaja Mutiat Sulaimon as well as Alhaja Hawawu Jimoh.
