Hoodlums Stab Man To Death

Hoodlums stab a young man to death, robbed residents and disrupted business activities in Ijora Badiah, Lagos. According to a resident of the area who confide in Community Gist, the fight between the two hoodlum group broke out on Friday, 19th of October, 2018 at around 5 pm when one of the groups attacked a young man who was returning from work along Gaskiya Road. He said the young man, whose name could not be ascertain as at the time of filling this report was stable on his neck and later gave up. He said although the deceased was an elder brother of one the members of the opposition group, but the deceased is not a member of the hoodlum group. He said when the news of the deceased break, the younger brother mobilized his group, took to the street and attacked anyone they set their eyes on, forcing residents to stay indoor for their safety.

A pounded yam seller who prefer anonymity said the hoodlums wasted all her food, destroyed her tent and took the pole of the tent with them.

Another resident claimed that several innocent people who are returning from work that night was robbed of the belongings, especially those on bike. She then urged the relevant stakeholders to do the needful, adding that the incessant fight in the area is getting out of hand.

At the time our correspondent visited the community on Saturday, 20th of October, 2018, broken bottles and damaged vehicles are seen on various parts of the community, especially on Gaskiya road, Fadaini road as well as Iganmu road.

Ijora Badiah is one of the most notorious and dangerous to live community in Lagos State. It is located in Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (Apapa Local Government Area) of the state.
