Ifako-Ijaiye, Ojokoro Stakeholders insist on Hon. (ENGR) Adekunle Olayinka candidacy for Federal House of Representatives

As 2023 general elections draw nearer, major stakeholders in Ifako Ijaiye local government have thrown their weight behind the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, Hon. (Engr) Adekunle Olayinka (a.k.a. KOPI) for the office of House of Representatives, to represent Ifako Ijaiye Federal Constituency.

The stakeholders which included community leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, students’ bodies, youth organizations, market women and men, residents as well as APC stalwarts in Ifako Ijaiye local government area disclosed this at a meeting Hon Olayinka held with them during wide consultation. It was said that he has now agreed to run for House of Representatives and that he has asked them to intimate their people and those who are beckoning on him to run that he is now ready for the task ahead.

The stakeholders who could not hide their joy during the meetings, noted that Adekunle’s past records of unprecedented achievements and track records will make campaigning for him less stressful for the APC when the party gives him the ticket as its flag bearer as they believe the party would.

At the meeting, he had with APC Party stalwarts in Ifako Ijaiye local government; members of the Party who took turns to comment on Hon. Adekunle’s sterling track records and how he has used various positions he has been privileged to occupied to touch the lives of youths and women.

Impeccable sources have it that when he was the Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Political Matter, he assisted many youths to get employed into the state and local government level and many of these youths today have risen to the top cadre in civil service. ‘’His philanthropic nature is unequalled as many families benefited from his welfare programmes, especially the less privileged ones in our community.’’ Affirmed a youth Activist.

Traditional institutions in the Federal Constituency said, the aspiration of Engr. Olayinka is a very good one. In the words of one of them ‘’The numbers of out of school students that had gained access to schools are there to testify. He placed high priority on security, health, women empowerment, sports and social development. He extended is humanitarian services to Ojokoro Local Council Development Area which is part of our federal constituency and beyond, as many lives have been transformed.” Said the traditional chief.

The Monarchs described Hon. Olayinka as indeed a reliable, dependable, trustworthy, tested and trusted politician worthy of emulation. ‘’We are happy that he is aspiring to contest for the House of Representatives office and have no doubt that your candidature will make our campaign less strenuous for our party.” The Chief stressed.

Speaking earlier at the meeting, one of the members of the entourage of Hon. Adekunle, Mr. Segun Dosumu disclosed that he and some party stalwarts met with Hon. Adekunle and gave him reasons why he must contest as the people within and outside their constituency have clamoured to have him in the race.

“We were made to know that Engr. Olayinka is a sellable product who our party can present, leveraging on his popularity and track records of integrity coupled with the good work that Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor is doing across the length and breadth of the State. This is the reason why we went to him and pleaded with him to embark on this consultation with other stakeholders to hear directly from them, declare his intention to run and then solicit for their support.’’ Said the grassroot politician.

The people of the federal constituency said they are happy that the story and testimony about the person of Hon. (Engr) Adekunle Olayinka has been the same in the mouths of the electorates throughout the length and breath of Ifako-Ijaiye & Ojokoro political space, which is an indication that he will do much more and exceedingly great things if he has the chance to represent them at the green chamber come 2023.
