Ire Akari Group of CDAs host Matogbun Area CDC

The good people of Matogbun Area CDC as usual came out in their large number on Thursday, 6th of February, 2020 to deliberate on how to develop their community in their monthly statutory meeting.

The meeting which was second of its kind since inception of the new administration of the Area CDC under the leadership of Alhaji Adedokun Ibikunle was held at Joshua Street, Near So – Safe Corps Office, Matogbun.

The chairman of Ire Akari Group of CDAs, Prince Enikuomeyin Adesuyi in his welcome address appreciate the Group executives, CDA chairmen as well as committee chairmen for always being there for him. Part of his speech reads;

“Ire Akari Group (2) with eight (8) CDAs before now have twelve (12) CDAs. I thank God and the entire good people of Ire Akari Group (2) for their cooperation which made it possible for us. Ire Akari has made three (3) successful projects; 500 KVA transformer cost #8,500,545 (8 million, five hundred and fifty four thousand naira), the building of VSO office, which is now known as So – Safe Corps, which is going to cost #3,500,000 (3 million, five hundred thousand naira), while we have already spent #2,100,500 (2 million, one hundred thousand, five hundred naira), which we still need #1,400,000 (one million, four hundred thousand naira), we purchased a Public Address System cost #110,000 (one hundred and ten thousand naira).

“Ire Akari Group (2) has been able to clear and dig all drainages in their various CDAs. To this, we hereby thank all the communities that involved in the clearing of Matogbun Oke Aro Road. We are appealing to Ifo Local Government and Ogun State Government to please look unto our problem on Matogbun Oke Aro Road.”

While responding to the welcome address, Matogbun Area CDC chairman, Alhaji Adedokun Ibikunle commended the chairman in particular and members of the Group in general for a well done job. He then admonished members of the community to always support the ongoing project on Matogbun Oke Aro Road with whatever they have in their disposal. The chairman also admonished CDAs that are yet to pay their dues for the ongoing police station in Matogbun to do so on or before April 2020.

The immediate past chairman of the Area CDC, Deacon O. M. Olapade while addressing the gathering said all CDA chairmen should come out in their numbers on Monday, 10th of February to be part of working committee on Matogbun Oke Aro saying the fund generating at the toll has dropped significantly due to negligent by members of the community adding that compulsory tolling will commence on Monday.

Other issues discussed at the meeting include; health, National ID Card registration, sanitation as well as barricading of Matogbun Motorcycle Park.

Community leaders in attendance include; Prince G. B. Adebanjo (Immediate past chairman, Ifo CDC Zonal), Otunba Peter Olusanya (Patron, Matogbun Area CDC), Prince B. G. Olatunji (Patron, Ire Akari Group of CDAs, Agba Akin of Legun Town), Chief Olaniyan Olayemi (Immediate past Vice Chairman, Matogbun Area CDC) Mrs. R. I Lawal (Immediate past Secretary, Matogbun Area CDC).

Matogbun Area CDC, which comprises of 4 major towns; Matogbun, Legun, Koye and Maidan is situated in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, one of the most neglected communities in the state by both the Local and the State Government as the people are the ones providing basic amenities such as water, drainages, roads, electricity, health centre among other things themselves.
