Islamic Group award outstanding Muslims in Lagos

The Majlis Tajdeed Tadhamunul Muslimeen Association (MTTMA) host the Muslims to educative and interactive health and retirement conversation for those who are approaching age 40 and above at the Academy Inn Guest House Hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja on 3rd July 2022.

In his welcome address and opening remarks, Dr. (Engr) Ibrahim A. Abdul, the Zonal Head of MTTMA Agege Zone said “Age 40 is the new beginning.”

“We have organized this Professional Day to discuss very vital issues in the life of humans in this our clime that we often neglect, health challenges at age 40 and retirement plan.”

“We are also going to recognize people of good virtues in the society who have contributed to the growth and development of human capital so that they can be encouraged to do more and others can follow the footstep to avoid people of low value dictating to the younger generation,” Dr. Ibrahim had said.

The Awardees were picked from both the private establishment and government-owned institutions ranging from Federal, State, and Multinationals.

The awardee in the male categories includes Barr. Munirudeen Adekunle, member Nigerian Bar Association and a Director of Education; Mr. Sulaimon Adenle, Deputy Registrar and Counsellor of Lagos State University; Engr. Idowu Yekeen, CEO Zenith Precision Ltd; Mr. Mutiu Adelu, Senior Financial Planning General Electric (GE) and President, Muslim Professional Accountant Association of Nigeria; as well as Alhaji Misbaudeen Bishi, Principal of Al-Hikmat College.

The female category, had Mrs. Aminah AbdulKareem, Director at Al-Hikmat Schools; Hajiah Aminat Fagbemi-Solarin, Deputy Director IT Department, Voice of Nigeria and Board member HOPEWIN; as well as Hajiah Sowemimo Khadijah Ololade, Educationist, Deputy Director of Education with Lagos State as awardees.

He buttressed the components of aging, “hypertension, heart failures, etc”. He advised the participants to go for regular checkups so as to discover possible diseases earlier.

While speaking to the participants at the Professional Day on the topic “Midlife Health Challenges; age 40 and above, Head of Dialysis at Gbagada General Hospital, Dr. Abdul Wasiu Busari said that there are two important things that human beings take for granted–Health and Time.

According to him, regular exercise and eating right are key for people at the age of 40 and youngsters too.

“The best period for reproduction is age 18-25,” Busari stressed.

The participants were taken through life after work by Engr. AbdurRasheed Anifowoshe, CEO BestMould Nigeria Ltd who spoke on retirement plans, enlightened the participants about the “Bathtub Theory which states that infant mortality is between age 0–20, constant failure stage (useful life) falls within age 21–40 while the final one, the wear-out stage is between age 41 and above”.

He listed the plans for retirement to be, “Health and energy, finance, love and happiness, peace and death.”

Anifowoshe vehemently advised the participants and general public to have multiple sources of income as a plan for retirement too.

The Managing Partner of PayVantage, Engr. Femi Balogun explore the infusion of technology into our lives when he took the participants through the stages of ideas incubation to product launching for public consumption.

Majlis Tajdeed Tadhamunul Muslimeen Association (MTTMA) is an organization that encourages what is good and forbids what is bad in the society, promoting goodness, unity, love, and good values in the society. It has programs and projects that build human capital and promote goodness in the society.

In an interview with the press, the participants and awardees expressed their gratitude to MTTMA on this year’s Annual Professional Day and advised the organizers to make it better.
