A PROFILE OF MR AKEEM OLUWAMAYOWA OGUNKOYA

Mr. Akeem Oluwamayowa Ogunkoya, is a reputable, constructively aggressive, energetic, visionary and proactive young vibrant political leader. He was born on the 12th of June 1989 in Agbado, Ifo local government of Ogun State to the family of Mr. Adeshina Musibau Ogunkoya and Mrs. Antonia Oluwatoyin Ogunkoya. He was bred in the same environment, where he was well fortified with indigenous values and customs. He attended Hopeville Nursery and Primary School for his primary education at, Ijaye Ojokoro, Lagos State between 1992 and 2000. Soon after, he proceeded to African Church Model College, Ifako-Ijaye, Lagos State for his first two years secondary education between the years 2000 and 2002. He then moved to Bolson College, Agbado Station, Ogun State between the years 2002 and 2006 for the completion of his secondary education. His sterling performances in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics stood him out amongst many of his colleagues at the time. In spite of the so many contradictions, as a result of his tenacity and passion for knowledge he furthered his education by attending the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology called LAUTECH in Ogbomoso, Oyo State between the years 2007 and 2012, where he bagged B.Tech in Computer Science, a course he had always wanted to study since his childhood days.

Due to his all-round and multitasking ability, friends named him Utility Mayor which had already become an house hold name wherever he goes and it’s not just a name, it’s a calling backed up with actions. He had always been at the beck and call of leadership, as a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, he was a vibrant member of the Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) LAUTECH chapter between 2007 and 2012, where he was privileged to serve in different capacities. Proving to be a man of integrity, diligence and accountability, in no time he rose to the position of General Secretary of the same association between September 2010 and 2011. This primal experience of leadership bolstered him to embrace many more leadership responsibilities in the same association. He was later saddled with the responsibilities of the ICT WEEK Planning Committee Secretary of NACOSS in 2011 and the Editor-In-Chief of a NACOSS yearly magazine called VON-NEUMANN MAGAZINE in 2012. He had his industrial training in Chams Plc (an IT based multi-national firm) as a Data Capture and Database Administrator between August 2011 and January 2012. Upon graduation, he served his fatherland in Eket where he was Computer Studies and Mathematics Teacher at Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Uso Ekong, Eket Local Government of Akwa Ibom State. During his service year, he took a part time job with a leading secondary school in Eket; All Weather International School, between March 2013 and February 2014 where he was a Mathematics and Further Mathematics Teacher. His enormous energy and dedication was identified by a Christian religious organization during his compulsory one year service to his fatherland in Eket, Akwa-Ibom State, where he was appointed as Organizing Secretary between 2013 and 2014.
Professionally, he worked with LG Nigeria (FEETAF ENTERPRISES), as the Branch Operations Officer/ Internal Control Officer between February 2014 and March 2015. Due to his excellence performance, he was promoted to attain the post of Inventory and Logistics manager between March 2015 and July 2015. He proceeded to Huawei Technologies Limited in July 2015, where he performs the role of an Enterprise Solution Engineer. In this capacity, Mayowa facilitated Optical Node Implementation and Microwave Installation and a plethora of equipment commissioning and integration using U2000/Navigator. In addition to all these he has obtained certifications through trainings, seminars, workshops and conferences attended on; Entrepreneurship, Human Resources and Skill Acquisition such as;

As a result of his love for education coupled with his longing desire to give back to the society he had conducted several trainings on ICT, extra-moral classes for students on core science subjects at the community level to help students improve on their grades, making them qualified for university admission.

In 2012, he received an award for giving the third Best Presentation on the topic “Industrial Relevance: Tweeting with the Trend”. Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students, National Convention (TEETREN 2012) Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun-State. He is an Affiliate member of the Inventors Club of Nigeria (ICN) an organization he joined in the year 2012 and he has remained a member till present. He is also a supporter and facilitator of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Beyond the core ICT industry, he has stunt with enterprising organizations. He is the C.E.O. of O-Royal Foods and a cofounder of Vivlate Limited, among others. He is an ardent believer in using ICT solutions to facilitate and drive thriving business operations. It may interest you to know, Mayowa is a natural leader, teacher, lover of art and youth emancipation advocate. In a bid to serve his people better, he has decided to sacrifice his youthful strength, resources and investments to the course of nation building, delivering to the people their rights of democratic has eluded them for a long time. Mr. Akeem Oluwamayowa Ogunkoya is vying for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly as a member representing Ifo Constituency 2, Ifo Local Government Area, under the platform of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) in the forth-coming elections in the year 2019. Mayowa is a single man and a believer in the Christian faith.
