Lagos Community Youth Development Initiative visit traditional rulers in Amuwo Odofin LGA

The Lagos Community Youths, Amuwo Odofin Chapter embarked on a state working visit to the traditional rulers within Amuwo Odofin Local Government on Friday 23rd of April, 2021.

Their first point of call was the palace of Alamuwo of Kuje Amuwo Land, Oba Isaac Owolabi Olayemi JP.

Receiving them at the palace was the Apase of Kuje Amuwo Land, Chief Shehu Ariyo who equally doubles as the Youth Leader of the community.

Deputy Coordinator, Comrade Lawal Jimoh who introduced the state and Amuwo Odofin executives in attendance said the purpose of their visit us to let the community know and feel the presence of the association but that wouldn’t augur well without first paying homage to the opinion leaders in the community.

Corroborating him, the State Coordinator, Comrade Akanni Micheal, stated further that the association decided to reach out to all communities in the state and let people that matters know that there are youths who are not destructive because of the experiences of the End Sars movement and effects of Covid 19 pandemic which has led a lot of youths into untoward avenues. The State Coordinator of however stated that the association proposed community town hall meeting which will bring all and sundry together at the community level to look at the common problems ravaging each community and look for the way forward.

The Apase of Kuje Amuwo Land was impressed by the submissions of the youth initiative and he, on behalf of the Alamuwo of Kuje Amuwo Land thanked the youths for their insights and pledged his total support to the association. The Apase was inducted as an honourary member of the association at the end of the day.

After leaving the Alamuwo’s palace, the Youth proceeded to the palace of Alado of Ado Land Oba Abdul Lateef Olayinka Ado. The association felt very much at home as there was ample time to rub minds with all the chiefs that graced the occasion.

The next stop over was the palace of Oba Abdul Afeez Oriyomi Shittu, Oba Ibasa Ijegun Egba Oguntedo Satellite Town.

After relaying the purpose of the visit, the king expressed his satisfaction and blessed the association with prayers.

Partinent questions were asked by the chiefs present; they sought to know if the association is politically motivated and how the youth in their land will benefit from all the outlined opportunities. Ambassador Akanni Micheal responded to all the questions posed to the association.
