In a bid to make public office holders accountable and to further develop their Local Government Area, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ijebu North Branch has organized an interactive session with the Ijebu North Chairmanship candidates in the forthcoming Ogun State Local Government Election.
The historical event which was held on Saturday, 10th of July, 2021 at Ijebu Igbo Town Hall has two Chairmanship Candidates in attendance; Hon. Bolaji Oluwaseun Odusanya of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Hon. Mrs. Morenikeji Afosi of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In his welcome address, the Coordinator of NYCN, Ijebu North, Comrade Ogunleye Ismaila, explained the reason behind the Interactive session saying “we hope that after this Interactive session, we should come out with a blue print with which we can work on to better the lifes of our people in the Local Government.”
The Interactive Session started with questions on the early life of the candidates, the problem they have been able to identified in the Local Government and the possible solutions.
In their separate responses, the two candidates were quick to appreciate the efforts of the Youth Council and promise to make sure that the youth constituency were well taken care of in their administration.
Participants at the event also use the medium to call on the Youth Council to look into how the various representatives at all level can give an account of their stewardship by organizing a town hall meeting for such and inviting them as that will make them all to stand on their toes and do more for the people.
Participants were selected youths from Atikori Youth Forum , Ago Iwoye Youth Development Association, Oke Sopen Youth Forum, Oke Agbo Youth Forum, Red Cross , Man O’war and other youth organizations in the local government.
Dignitaries at the event include; Hon. Sansa Ismaila ( Vice Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu North), Comrade Senbadejo Olawale (State Deputy Chairman, NYCN Ogun State), Hon. Sojinrin, Prince Ademola Osofodunrin (Allowed), Mr. Odunsi, Councilorship candidates from some Wards in the local government from the APC and NNPP as well as Chief Adeoye (Rep. Iyaloja General of Akile Ijebu).
