The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has commiserated with family of the late Abba Kyari, the presidency and well meaning Nigerians over the death of Nigeria’s Chief of Staff.

The Presidency in the early hours of Saturday April 18, 2020 announced the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The deceased had tested positive for the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020 in Lagos according to the official statement signed by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Reacting to the sad news, the president of Lagos State Area Unit of the students body, Dr Saheed Ashafa described Mallam Abbah Kyari’s demise as a great loss to the entire nation.

He said “we received the news of Abba Kyari’s death with great sorrow and deep regret. We commiserate with his family, the presidency and entire Nation”

The students leader who noted that his death is a huge loss, admonished that it is a reminder that every soul shall taste death when the time comes.

“We enjoin everyone to keep remembering that the present world is a transient entity which requires God’s consciousness and humane attitude towards all mortals.” He added.

However, with the ravaging global coronavirus pandemic and Nigeria’s daily increasing recorded cases which had last Monday forced President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the lockdown situation in the country with additional 14 days, Dr.Ashafa seized the medium to call on all well to do individuals to stretch hands of charity to the ‘have-nots’ in this trying moment being experienced across the globe.

The Muslim students (Amir) president also urged everyone to abide by extant directives regarding the containment of the pandemic coronavirus when he said “We should continue to maintain social distance among other precautions. With time, we shall come out victorious of the ravaging pandemic while exercising patience and perseverance.”
