MSSNLagos lamented that its members who took the examination complained that the Christian questions were included in a general paper set for the Primary Six Placement Test into JSS 1 held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, with reference number LSA/PT/2022.

The Lagos State Area Unit of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has faulted Lagos State Ministry of Education over the inclusion of Bible knowledge questions in the 2022 entrance examination for public schools.

According to the Muslim students, the paper was captioned English Studies/Verbal Reasoning/General Paper but questions 12 and 14 were from the Bible.

The MSSNLagos made this known in a statement by its Amir (President), Mallam Miftahudeen Thanni.

Thanni accused the Lagos State Ministry of Education’s officials of deliberately favouring Christian students, describing the situation as a “misnomer”.

The Muslim students’ leader explained that including IRS in the examination questions would have been an alternative.

He also opined that the inclusion of only Bible knowledge questions was an injustice to the Muslim candidates.

“The deliberate act of setting only CRS in the general paper is a misnomer, knowing fully well that Muslim students will also take part in the exam. Nigeria is a multi-religious society and not a mono-religious state,” he said.

While on break, he appealed to parents and guardians to engage their wards in productive activities ahead of resumption.
