Muslim faithfuls celebrate Prophet Muhammad in grand style

Muslim faithfuls within and around Osere came out in their large number to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad at Al-Akhyaar School for Arabic and Islamic Studies under the leadership of Alhaji Khalifah Kamil Al-Awwal Garu. Also, parents friends and family of graduants are not left behind as the also came to rejoice with them for successful completion of the Holy Qur’an.

The event which took place at the school premises on 22nd of December, 2018 had several dignitaries as well as prominent Islamic scholars in attendance, which include Alhaji Lookman Garu, CEO, Garu Technologies (Nig) Ltd; Hon Semiu Adegboyega, Manager, Garu Technologies (Nig) Ltd; Chief Imam of Matogbun, Sheik Soliu Adegboola; Sheik Lookman Yahya (Al-Imekowiy); Sheik Abdul Ganiy (Secretary, JAULAS); Chief Imam of Ijeja; Sheik Nurudeen Kewulere, Alhaja Balqees Garu, Mrs Rasheedat Ronke Gbadamosi as well as Alhaji Raheem Bashir, proprietor Bash Private School.

The chairman of the occasion, Hon Semiu Adegboyega while delivering his opening speech admonished parents to ensure that their children have good and solid Islamic and Arabic education, adding that some parents has relegated Islamic and Arabic education to the background in their family because of Western education. He also highlighted some of the benefits of giving a child Islam and Arabic education which include; fear and love of Islam and Allah, good performance in where ever such child find him or herself and he used his boss, Alhaji Lookman Garu as an example, he said his boss is doing well in his field because he has solid Islamic foundation.

The Guest Lecturer, Sheik Ismail Agbeti while delivering his lecture said most Muslims are not doing well both in their endeavours and spiritually because they don’t have total believe or faith in Allah. He then admonished them to have total faith in Allah, adding that Qur’an is mother of all books and capable of solving whatever challenges confronting a Muslims.

He also said whatever that happen to a Muslim, either good or bad is from Almighty Allah citing Qur’an 15 verse 16 as reference. He rounded up his lecture by urging the graduants as well as other children at the event to continue learning and they should not worship any other god except Allah, adding that it is a great sin for anyone that acquire Islamic knowledge to practice any other religion apart from Islam. He also admonished the children to always obey their parents, saying after Allah their parents come next.

Highlight of the event include thanks giving and special prayer, recitation of Holy Qur’an and Hadith as well as entertainment from the school students.
