Muslim Students Storm Surulere Orphanage home

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Surulere Area Council under the leadership of Amir Omotosho Oluwashina Ahmad had embark on humanitarian visit to Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice on Sunday, 23rd of May, 2021. The humanitarian visit which is part of 1442AH (2021) MSSN week themed pathways to peace is meant to put smile on the faces of the orphans.

Amir(President) of MSSN-Surulere Area Council, Omotosho Oluwashina Ahmad said the motive behind the visitation is to emulate Prophet Muhammad.

He said; “The visitation was done to emulate the practise of our noble Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Unto Him), who was reported to have said, those who look after the orphans will be together with him like the closeness of forefinger & longest fingers in Paradise.

“Considering the unrest situation of our dear country today, led to the adoption of PATHWAYS TO PEACE as this year’s theme for MSS-WEEK, as we implore and sue for peace in all areas ravaged with violence in Nigeria today.”

Omotosho however stated activities that will take place during this year edition of MSSN WEEK.

“This week long homongous event features Youth Conference Programme, Inter-Schools Quiz Competition, Games etc Slated for Thursday May 27th, 2021 tagged “The Heroes” to be discussed by Motivator Lukman Aminu (Alumni of YALI), followed by Symposium slated for Friday May 28th, 2021 of which PATHWAYS TO PEACE shall be discussed by Ustadh Abdul-Hakeem Qasim Olubunmi, Lecturer, University of Lagos, Akoka and Prize Day to winners of Interschools Quiz Competition and Academic Games.

Day 5 had been scheduled for Sisters tagged annual Sisters’ Seminar with “The Doyen” as theme to be discussed with Hajia Aisha Haroon and other invited guests, while the brothers engaged themselves with novelty match between Brothers of Surulere & Itire-Ikate Area Council dated Saturday May 29, 2021at Sam Shonibare Playing Ground, Lawanson, Surulere.

The Chairman of MSS-WEEK 1442 A.H, Ahmad Alabi said the initiative is a way of impacting their community. “Towards impacting positively in our immediate community, made MSSN Surulere Area Council under the leadership of Amir Omotosho Oluwashina Ahmad flag off this 1442 A.H(2021) edition of the MSS-WEEK with Community Service to Orphanage Home, a rare clime in our community today.

“This initiative is inline with the Productivity And Collaboration Agenda of Amir (President) Miftahudeen Thanni of MSSN Lagos State Area Unit, as MSSN-Surulere upholds the measure of life by impactful donations and not by its mere longevity, Ahmad asserted.”

The MSS-WEEK is an annual event full of activities geared towards Islamic propagation & development of citizens amongst others.
