Oke Aro-Matogbun Road, a death trap – Residents

“Oke Aro-Matogbun Road is now a death trap”. This is the assertion of many residents of Matogbun and its environs, especially those that ply the road on daily basis. The road is usually not motorable especially during the raining season. The people of the community are calling on Ogun State government as well as the Federal Government of Nigeria to come to their rescue.

A resident who simply identify himself as Emmanuel said he recorded at least five vehicle accidents and three motorcycle accident on the road last week.

Another resident who prefer anonymity said he has relocated to his workshop in Lagos because of the heavy rainfall recently, adding that he usually come home twice in a week to see his family. He then call on both the state and federal government to come to their rescue.

 

 

 

 

 

Motorcyclist usually charge between three hundred naira (#300) and five hundred naira (#500) whenever there is rain for a fare of  one hundred naira (#100).

Matogbun has been in existence for more 30 years without any basic amenities provided for the people by the government. It is located in Agbado-Oke Aro LCDA, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria.
