Olambe ACDC hold monthly meeting, award outstanding members

Tolling will commence on Olambe Roads in December

Thursday, 19th of November was indeed a joyous day for residents of Olambe Area Community Development Committee as they come together for the first time to hold their monthly statutory meeting since the outbreak of COVID – 19 to deliberate on how to move their community forward.

The meeting which was hosted by New Dawn Group of CDAs (Group 11) was held at Olambe Town Hall and was well attended by prominent personalities in the community.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of New Dawn Group of CDAs, Alhaji Mutiu Adelani Agbe appreciated Almighty God who see them through the pandemic and the #EndSARS protest and pray that the soul of those who lost their lives will rest in peace. He equally applauded Olambe youths for comporting themselves during the #EndSARS protest. His words: “In great appreciation, I give kudos to general body of Olambe Area CDC Youth Wing on good coordination of themselves from the END SARS protest that rock our nation Nigeria to the ground recently.”

Agbe rounded up his speech by appreciating members of the Group as well as the planning committee. “I express my unreserved appreciation to the entire members of New Dawn Joint of CDAs Group 11 and the planning committee. Also to all our community members both at home and in diaspora and all well wishers for their moral, spiritual and financial support for the success of hosting Olambe Area CDC monthly general meeting.”

The Chairman of the Area CDC, Comrade Omolade Akinade Ganiyu while responding to the welcome address applauded the Group for a well done job. He then admonished members of the community to support them in developing the community saying tolling will commence on the major roads in the community in the month of December. He said the fund generating on the road will be use to maintain the road.

The immediate past Chairman of the Area CDC, Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde popularly call Captain BEK commended the So Safe Corps, Olambe Unit for a well done job. He also applauded the Youth Wing of the Area CDC as well as the Chairman of the Area CDC saying he is very happy for the person he succeeded him. He then urged CDAs to always pay their dues as at when due saying community development activities has expanded beyond how he left it.

The General Secretary of the Area CDC, Mr. Kayode Oguntoyinbo while presenting the awardees to the audience said they are being celebrated today because of their contributions to the growth and development of Olambe Area CDC and urged other members to emulate them.

Other issues discussed at the meeting include; education, health, security as well as electricity.
