Olambe Area CDC rotational monthly meeting

The good people of Olambe Area CDC, who care about the development of their community came out in their large number to attend their first statutory monthly for the year 2019.

The meeting which was well attended by community leaders and members took place on Thursday at Olambe Town Hall and was hosted by Victorious Group 1 of CDAs.

The group chairman of Victorious Group of CDAs, Mr Kayode Oguntoyinbo while delivering his welcome address welcome everyone to the last meeting to be hosted by the administration and itemised the achievement of his administration. Part of his speech reads “The security of lives and property of our members remain one of our primary focus and this has being pursued with vigour. Of note is one of our CDA’s (Divine Mercy) who arrested a thief, followed it up to court and ensure that the criminal was sentenced to two years imprisonment. Additional measure to minimize house breaking in our community is the restriction if cat pushers to Saturdays alone when it is believed that most residents will be at home.

“Adisa road channelisation, in spite of all odds, I am happy to announce that this project is finally completed. You will recall how the Area CDC had intervened in the series of controversies surrounding the project. The recent event before the completion resulted in physical fight among the residents and landlords which led to police intervention. Above all, we dared it and we completed it. I want to appeal to all our members to close rank, forget the past and march on for greater development in our community. What join us together is far more than what separate us. The total cost of this project is in excess of (#1,500,000.00) one million five hundred thousand naira only.

“Electricity: most CDA’s are working hard to replace the wooden poles with concrete ones. We need to cry out that consumers of electricity are overburdened. When the 10/10 transformer got damaged the group spent more than (#500,000) five hundred thousand naira only, to repair, energize and protect the transformer from vandals which should be responsibility of IKEDC.”

The vice chairman of the Area CDC, Alhaji Ganiyu Omolade while responding to the Group Chairman welcome address commended him as well as members for a well done job, particularly on security and admonished other groups to emulate them.

The Area CDC had, Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde (RTD) said Sha Sha course will commence on March 19th and urged all CDAs to enrol at least 3 members for the course.

“We have set up a committee that will work on how to energize the new transformer that was given to Kampala community, the transformer was facilitated by Jon Fagbamila (Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency candidate of PDP). the committee which will be Inaguarate today is to also work on the return of the former transformer uninstalled and taken away by IKEDC 2 years ago, the committee will also work on prepaid metre, he added.”

Career officer from state commended the Area CDC chairman as well as members. She admonished CDAs to organize the upcoming CDAs elections carefully and they should not forget that Sha Sha course is one of the requirements for becoming a CDA chairman.

Mrs Aide from Nigeria Immigration Service urged the community to work with Nigeria Immigration Service in our to identify illegal immigrants in the community, adding that some of the immigrants have PVC, which they don’t suppose to have. “please help us to identify these immigrants, we want to get to their leaders, some of them engage in criminal activities and we don’t want non Nigerians to vote this coming election, she added.”
