Ore Ofe Foundation gift 50 students JAMB form in Odeda
In a bid to contribute her quota to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and as a way of giving back to the society, a non governmental organization known as Ore Ofe Foundation has gifted no less than 50 students in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State free JAMB form in order to further their education.
The National Cordinator of the organization, Comrade Taiwo Olumayowa Babatunde in an interview with our correspondent said the reason behind the initiative is to encourage students in Odeda to further their education after High School. His words: “We chose Odeda because is a rural area and we need to encourage the students in the environment. The reason behind the programme is to encourage the students to further their education because we observed that majority of the students in the area couldn’t further their education after secondary school. We want to support the best students in their tertiary institutions and to also discourage them in getting involved in social vices.”
Ogun State National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Chairman, Comrade AbdulJabar Ayelaagbe while addressing the beneficiaries, urged them to use the opportunity given to them judiciously adding that they should remain focus in their education and shun social vices. In an interview with our correspondent, Ayelaagbe commended Ore Ofe Foundation for a well done job, saying what they do is encouraging.
“This is one of those things we should be seeing in our society, this kind of Initiative will go a long way to encourage our young ones and will enable them to have at the back of their mind too to set that great goal that one day they will also come back to give back to their community, Ayelaagbe added.”
The Cordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Odeda Local Government Chapter, Comrade Amuda Tajudeen Gbenga applauded Ore Ofe Foundation for extending their kind gesture to youths in his local government.
He said; “This gesture will go a long way in relieving parents of stress of getting money to buy the JAMB form. It will also go a long way in their mind and memory, it will also instinct that gesture in them; tomorrow they may become somebody and they will also think of getting back to the community.
“I want to charge the beneficiaries that education is key to anything, which ever they want to become tomorrow start from today and from the little lecture we give to them, which was tagged today’s decision, my future. Whatever decision they make filling that JAMB form today will determine what they will become tomorrow. All what they need now after filling the registration form is to go home and start serious reading so that they can excel and meet up the cut off mark.”
The beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings have these to say:
“It’s really wonderful as is a way of helping the less privileged. I feel very very good and it gives me the opportunity to do more and explore more, I can build my future. I thank the foundation and I pray that God will continue to bless them, Akinsanya Fetiola asserted.”
“I feel excited receiving the free JAMB form, I came across it online when searching for scholarships. I pray that God will continue to strengthen the organization, another beneficiary, Akanni Oluwapemilerin said.”
