Restoration Grp of CDAs host Olambe ACDC rotational meeting

In an attempt to further develop their community, the people of Olambe in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State has come together as they usually do to deliberate on issues that affect them. The monthly statutory rotational meeting, which was the 5th edition in the year was hosted by Restoration Group 4 of CDAs on 19th of May, 2022 and had prominent community leaders in attendance, which include; Prince Amos Oladele (Ifo Zonal CDC Chairman) Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde (Immediate Past Chairman, Olambe Area CDC), Alhaji Musa (Chairman, Igba Otun Area CDC) as well as Dr. Falas (Chairman, Araromi Oke Odo Area CDC).

The Chairman of Restoration Group 4 of CDAs, Surv. M. A. Akinbo in his welcome address said his administration was able to restored 2 CDAs in his Group who were almost not functional at the beginning of his administration.

“Chairman sir, two CDAs were almost not functional at the beginning of this regime. We held consultations with them and we were able to revive them. We pray that God holds them firmly. I want to acknowledge before you all the effort of Alhaji S. I. Yusuf (aka Al Raman) and Mrs. Yemisi Idowu both of Aanu Oluwapo CDA, Akinbo asserted.

The Group Chairman however, said the Group of CDAs have been supportive to the Area CDC in areas of joint projects like education, health, roads, security, among others.

He said the Group is without any challenge, which include environmental and withheld certificate. He said: “The environment in our Group is faced with drainage and bad road, effective drainage is required on Olambe – Kampala road while Olambe – Matogbun road needs urgent filling and drainage. We shall appreciate if the ongoing good effort of the OACDC can be extended to these areas. One of our CDAs, Light Bearer has paid for it’s certificate over five years now but same is yet to be issued. We shall appreciate if this could be worked into and released without further delay.”

Olambe Area CDC Chairman, Comrade Ganiu Omolade while addressing members of the community admonished them to pay their educational levy of five hundred naira (#500) to support the ongoing school construction in Shodipe saying the community intention is to ensure completion of the project before school resume for new session in September. On security, he said the community is working on setting up Olambe Security Trust Fund adding that the leadership of the Area CDC will be working with philanthropists in each CDA and urged CDA chairmen to give them names and phone numbers of philanthropists in their CDA. He also urged CDA chairmen to ensure they execute life saving projects during the tenure adding that the Leadership Training popularly called Sha Sha is crucial for anyone that want to become a community leader saying anyone without the certificate is not qualify to contest for any position in the community.

Igba Otun Area CDC Chairman, Alhaji Musa admonished members of the community to always install the right and committed person in CDA, Group as well as CDC positions, urging them to work more sustainable projects that will make life more easier for the people saying the government has nothing good to offer the people for now. He then commended Ifo Zonal Chairman, Prince Amos Oladele for his love and commitment towards community development.

The pioneer and Immediate past Chairman of Olambe Area CDC, Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde popularly called Captain BEK applauded the present Chairman of the Area CDC, Comrade Ganiu Omolade for taken community service to the next level saying he is always delighted that he has a good and vibrant successor who continue from where he stopped. He also commended his executives for their unflinching support.

Ifo Zonal CDC Chairman, Prince Amos Oladele in his remark admonished community members not to relent in their efforts to develop their community saying government is not ready to give dividend of democracy to the masses. He also admonished parents to give their children the right training in order no to constitute nuisance in the community. He however said CDAs should ensure to always pay their dues regularly and promptly saying the dues is what is used to run the community adding that leaders in the community are messengers of the people. He then butress the assertion of Comrade Omolade on the Sha Sha course, he said the course is very important and anyone that has attended the course have the right to challenge any executive that did not attend the course and if such person write petition to the CDC or Zonal, the executive without Sha Sha certificate will relieve of his or her position.
