Part of her speech reads “Youth mindset has changed from that of the past about hard work. Drug abuse and internet fraud i.e yahoo yahoo has been the order of the day.

“For John the Baptist, his generation was a generation of vipers. King Solomon, in his own days, are a generation that curse their mothers and fathers, a generation that are pure in their own eyes and yet full of pride, crime, corruption and wickedness.

“Ours is a degenerated society; a shameless generation that has lost its sense of value and dignity, a generation that has thrown chastity and morality to the wind, a generation so educated but stack illiterate in the knowledge and understanding of moral and leadership qualities, a generation that steals and venture into crime and also become ritualist, all to make money, a perverted generation that device evil and crime in the name of civilization.

For years, people have been complaining and nothing has been done on the moral decadence and falling standard of education, yet, there is little time to save our nation.

On this note, Erudite Youth Nigeria in the midst of all odds have to take the bull by the horn and make straight the path of our youths, to empower and enlighten them on how to be virtuous and stop social vices in order to combat crime in our society.”

The Cordinator of the organization, Erudite Akinjide Oluwadamilare while delivering his welcome address admonished the youths to take charge of their lives and have positive mindset.

“Right from birth, we are all born with two different mindset. This is negative and positive mindset. You have negative mindset in you, likewise there is also positive mindset in you. Your negative mindset is your negative thoughts, while positive mindset stipulated your positive thoughts.

“Your negative mindset is very easy to come into play for it operates automatically, unlike your positive mindset which requires a lot of discipline and a focus mind before you can control it.

“Just like your mind, your brain is also operate in two ways. Our brain is just like a mechanism. You have both success and failure mechanism in your brain. Just like your negative mindset, your failure mechanism is very easy because it operate automatically through out your life. When you find yourself to be following the easy way, to do what is fun, easy and require a little or no time, your failure mechanism is at work.”

He then told the students that they need self-discipline to get rid of failure mechanism, because it won’t allow them to be successful.

The first lecturer, Engineer Adebayo while delivering his lecture titled “The effect of drugs, drug abuse and alcoholism among Nigerian youths, urged the youths to shun hard drugs and drug abuse, saying it does not add any value to them and that “they should not allow their background to put their back on the ground.” He also admonished them to discover themselves and procrastination should not be part of them.

The second lecturer, Barrister Oluwafemi Akinlolu commended all the participation schools as well as the organizers, adding that they are not lazy. He urged young men and women to watch their use of internet and they should cultivate the habit of reading.

“Work hard as there is time to rest but not now. If you don’t have brain sweat today, you will have face sweat tomorrow.” He added.
