Adiyan Alausa ACDC Youth holds 2nd annual Ramadan Lecture

The Holy month of Ramadan is usually characterised by prayers, alms giving, and lectures to reform Muslims. This is the reason why The Youth Wing of Adiyan Alausa Area Community Development Committee under the leadership of Comrade Taofeeq Adebesin organized a Ramadan public lecture with the theme; the role of Islamic charity work in achieving economic stability.

The Guest Lecturer, Ustaz AbdulAkeem Muh Awwal Onilewura said any good deed, avoiding haram or not taken what does not belong to you is Islamic charity adding that charity can be classified into two (2); non monetary charity, that is, charity done with good deeds and monetary charity; this is done with money, it can also be in form of empowering others with skills or job creation.

He added that Nigeria need individual reformation for Nigeria to move forward, saying Nigeria has many praying centres and prayer warriors but lack worship centres and pious worshippers.

The Youth Leader, Comrade Taofeeq Adebesin in an interview with our correspondent expressed his displeasure over the low turn out from community leaders. His words: “Community leaders should lead by example and to always support the youths not necessarily with money but with their presence and advice as this will go a long way in motivating the youths to do more.”

Adebesin, however admonished the youths to always be part of community service, saying community service is a selfless service and one should not expect any financial reward from it adding that youths should always come together in order to achieve greater height.

The Chief Imam of Adiyan, Shaykh Lukman AbdulQodri commended the youth for a well done job and said the turn out from community leaders is discouraging adding that this kind of programme should record high number of participants, particularly community leaders.

Dignitaries at the event include; Chief Rafiu Dada Danasungbo (Bale, Adiyan Alausa), Alhaji Quasim Agunbiade (PRO, Adiyan Alausa Area CDC), Alhaji AbdulWasiu Osun, Alhaji Ibrahim as well as Mrs. Balogun.
