Goodluck CDA inaugurate new executives as they host Universal 1 Group of CDAs

Saturday, the 26th of November was a great and memorable day for the people of Goodluck Community Development Committee (CDA) has they host Universal Group of CDAs and inaugurate new executives that will manage the affairs of the CDA for the next three years.

The newly elected Chairman of the CDA, Alhaji Akeeb Akinola in his welcome appreciate everyone for their contributions to the growth and development of the community, particularly the past executives of the CDA. He equally remembered the departed souls in the CDA.

Part of his welcome address reads: “During the dispensation of the past executive committee and under the umbrella of the general CDC, we witnessed a rebirth of better electricity supply after a long period of erratic supply which culminated in disconnection especially in our community. Today, we all are happy that there has been some tremendous improvement in PHCN services in our area.

“Also on record, some wooden electric poles were changed to concrete poles. Many thanks to residents for their financial support. If you take a tour of our community, you will equally observe standard gutter/drainage system. Our road network is also in good shape with culverts at the appropriate places. Again, we say thanks to our ever – supporting members.”

Alhaji Akeeb however said the new executives will strive to execute some projects. “By the special grace of God, the new executive committee with the support of all members will strive hard to execute the following projects amongst others; house numbering/street identification, maintaining of our road networks and constructing culverts where necessary, provision of street lights, replacement of the remaining wooden poles with concrete poles, identification of members and properties within the CDA,” Alhaji Akeeb added.

Responding to the welcome address, Universal 1 Group of CDAs Chairman, Hon. Adewale Aremu applauded Goodluck CDA for a well done job saying he could remember vividly the challenge faced by the CDA in 2019 when he attended their meeting adding that he challenged them that they should change their wooden poles and he is glad that they listen to and do the needful. He however, admonished the new chairman not to relent in his effort to consolidate the achievement of his predecessors.

The Grand Patron, Matogbun Area CDC, Otunba P. A. Olusanya said he was extremely happy to be in the meeting saying he was highly impressed by the performance of the CDA in developing their community. Otunba who is also a member of the newly inaugurated zonal CDC committee by Ogun State Government congratulate the new executive and urged them to see their newly appointment as call to service. He then pray that God will give them the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to succeed in the sojourn.

Matogbun Area CDC Chairman, Alhaji Adedokun Ibikunle said as they agreed to serve the community they should be ready to overlook somethings and ready for insults and wrong accusation from some members of the community but they should remain focused and do their best and Almighty God will surely reward them abundantly.

The new executives of Good Luck CDA are: Alhaji Akeeb Akinola (Chairman), Mr. Durojaiye Edward (Vice Chairman), Mr. Olufemi Odedeyi (General Secretary), Mrs. Oyewole (Assistant General Secretary), Mr. Ganiyu Adeshina (Financial Secretary), Alhaji Shittu (Treasurer), Saheed Atanda (PRO), Pastor Olufemi Akinlade (Assistant General Secretary 2), Mr. Kamoru Adesanya (Welfare Officer), Mrs. Adedeji (Woman Leader), Mr. Samson (Chief Whip) as well as Pastor Olagunju (Special Adviser).

Other issues discussed at the meeting include; Matogbun – Legun Road, Clinic at your doorstep, Matogbun Area CDC hosting by Universal 1 Group of CDAs, Matogbun Area CDC seminar for community members.
