The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has expressed readiness to use the upcoming Local Government election in Ogun state to change the political narrative.
The Ogun state chairman of NNPP, Comrade Olaposi Oginni said the party is ready to battle the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by securing political positions in the coming LG election.
Ogini said this while speaking on a radio programme at Sweet FM 107.1 in Abeokuta.
He stressed that NNPP will use the LG election as a template to prove to the people that you can win at the poll without being in the ruling party.
He added, “we are going to change that narrative, we want the LG institution to be strengthen irrespective of OGSIEC being constituted by the Governor. The road to that institution must be free and fair to every contestant.
“That is why you see anybody having aspiration today, they rush to the ruling party because they believe it is the only place that they can realize their ambition.
“We want to use the LG election in Ogun State as a template that you will see people winning on their own integrity on different platforms.”
Meanwhile, Oginni disclosed that NNPP will be given nomination forms free of charge to Councillorship and Chairmanship aspirants.
He further said,” I sincerely appeal to our members, especially the youths and women to arise and get the New Nigeria Peoples Party free nomination forms for the Councillorship and Chairmanship elections coming up in Ogun State.
“The NNPP State Secretariat is open at Faj House Adatan Abeokuta from 9am to 5pm daily to attend to Members of NNPP and the general Public most especially on the issues concerning Nominations of Aspirants and Candidates as Regards The Coming LG Elections.
“All you needed to campaign successfully are: boldness, loyalty, honesty, good ideas, true concern for the suffering people ,wisdom and Father God .
“Money is not everything. Let us step out in faith. With God, all things are possible. Ogun State Electorates have lost Faith in APC. Therefore we can defeat them if we come out to contest against them.”
