The voters education rally with the theme Voters Education: A Key Tool For Inclusive, Informed and Credible Electoral Participation was held on the early hour of Tuesday, 20th of December, 2022 in Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria.

Speaking with our correspondence, Feyikemi Fabiyi, the Lagos State Coordinator, Not Too Young To Run said that the walk was aimed at engaging eligible voting citizens on Voters’ Education, the importance of citizens obtaining thier PVCs, shunning all forms of electoral inducements and ensure they carry out thier civic responsibility during the 2023 General Elections.

She stated that the project was powered by ActionAid Nigeria through Activista Lagos. The sensitization exercise started from Ikeja Under Bridge down to Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa with massive interactions and engagement with the public. Positive response was recorded from the populace as they were educated, sensitized and informed on the importance and necessity of having PVC and coming out on the election day to cast thier votes. Also, the public were sensitized on how to cast their votes, and what makes their casted vote a valid one.

The citizens were also sensitized and informed about the various locations (Local Government Areas/INEC Offices) where they could obtain their PVCs so as to be eligible to cast their votes come 2023. As a result of this exercise, many citizens pledged to get their PVCs and vote wisely come 2023.
