Yellow house clinch trophy at MIMS Inter House Sports

Last Tuesday witnessed a battle of the fit to race and match at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) open field as the pupils and students of MIMs schools compete at the school’s biennial inter-house sports competition.

At the end of the manly held games of the school’s inter-house sports by the various houses it has, the Yellow house of MIMs Comprehensive College emerged victorious lifting the trophy with 6 golds, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

Prince Abdulmujeeb Ogungbayi, Chairman of the management board of MIMs Educational Services, owners of Mims and An-Nur Schools commended the teachers and pupils for staging an excellent inter-house sports competition for the school.

Speaking at the event, Prince Ogungbayi said the champions of the sporting exercise will be monitored to stardom. He affirmed that many students who have excelled in their chosen fields are been properly monitored to stardom.

He said the inter-house sport is one meant to hunt for talents among the students and also to oil their intellects in terms of academic performance saying sporting activities also help nurture students’ talents.

“It will help improve the students’ intellect, and physical appearance and also make them academically sound. We commend their participation it is tremendous. The best among turn will be monitored as we always do to ensure that they attain stardom in their future endeavours.”

Ogungbayi encouraged parents to give their children the opportunity to take an active part in sporting exercise saying it will help build their intellect and fitness. In his words, chairman of the occasion, Barrister Bashir Ramon also praised the sagacity of the school for hosting such an awesome sporting event.

He said; “It is a commendable effort, their sporting activities are awesome. I commend them for using a standard stadium for this type of event, it shows how important the school takes sport. It is a good way of building talents for the future. Those who emerge, winners, today should be monitored for greater places in the future.”

Baale of Bajulaiye in Somolu, Alhaji Yunusa Rodiyallah reigns commendations on the school and pupils for their excellent performance at the inter-house sports competition. The royal father who was the father of the day on the occasion gleefully offered prayers for the pupils and their teachers for their outstanding outing.

Other houses that won trophies include Green House of MIMS school in Bajulaiye that took first position in the match past competition; Green House of MIMS school at Surulere took 1st position while the An-Nur School’s Blue house took first position in the match past respectively.

In the fields and tracks events, An-Nur school Yellow house came first with 6 golds, 5 silver, and 5 bronze, the MIMS Bajulaiye’s annex Green House took first position and Green House of Surulere annex of the school came first with 6 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medals.

There was also an inter-school competition which include a relay race and 400 meters race. The winning schools were presented with medals and prizes. It was a no victor, no vanquish event as all the houses from all the annexes were presented with trophies from first to fourth positions.
