Celebration galore at Akeredolu Day

The good people of Akeredolu town as well as invited guests were seen on beautiful and attractive attires, particularly native dresses as the town celebrate her 5th annual anniversary tagged “Akeredolu Day and 20 million naira appeal fund for the completion of our ongoing project within the community.”

The event that took place on Saturday, 24th of November, 2018 at Akeredolu Town Hall had several dignitaries from all walks of life in attendance, which include: Hon. Olabinjo (Special Adviser to Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode); Prince Adewale Bello (APC Chairman, Ojokoro, Lagos State); Captain Babatope Emmanuel Kehinde (Chairman, Olambe Area CDC); Alhaji Bello; Alhaji Gbadebo (Chairman, New Dawn Group of CDAs, Akeredolu); DSP Kazeem (DPO, Ajuwon Police Station), Prince Arogundade, Hon. Femi Ote, Hon. Dauda Moruf, Prince James Fayemi; Comrade (Chief) Taiwo Olusegun (Asoju Odo, of Akeredolu town); representatives of Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI, ADC Ogun State governorship candidate); Chief Taiwo as well as Chief Bankole.

The Baale of Akeredolu town, High Chief Olatunji Akeredolu in an interview with our correspondent said one of the benefits of the anniversary is that it unity the people of the community and bring people who are closer to the government to the community in order to see how the community look like. He also admonished indigenes as well as residents of the town to always cooperate with one another in order to move the community to greater height. He said challenges face by the town include bad road, lack of police station as well as health centre, he then urged the government to come to their aid. The Baale also urged the youths to do the needful at all time and shun any form of social vices.

Chief Ogundana Olusegun, Ekerin of Akeredolu town in an interview with our correspondent said “we are doing this annual event to put the community in the forefront of development. We want people to know how far we have gone in terms of road, electricity, and all other amenities; those we can do ourselves and those we want to call the attention of the government to come and do for us. We thank God that today’s event is a very successful one.

“This event will add so much values in terms of public enlightment, in terms of publicity, in terms of people coming from every walks of life to know where they are calling Akeredolu and is a kind of exposing a particular community to the whole world.

“I urged the indigenes as well as the residents to cooperate with the Baale, work together, live peacefully, be your brother’s keeper. It is when these happen that development can go on in any community.”

Prince Adewale Bello (APC Chairman, Ojokoro LCDA, Lagos State) have this to say “this is a very lovely programme, is a such of development and I thank God I was present here. I have been coming to this anniversary every year and I have been seeing improvement every year. So I felicitate with the Baale, he is doing wonderful things here.

“This programme will add a great value because their Baale, which is Baale Akeredolu is a well known person both here and even in Lagos and he has been bringing people to this community every year for development. Like today now, the SA to governor Akinwunmi Ambode was here. So that’s one of those things, development development. He is bringing added values to this communities.

“The indigenes and residents should cooperate with the Baale, in unity we stand, if they don’t cooperate with him very well, the development will be shallow but if he get good cooperation among them, you will see the sky will not even be the limit, it will be the starting point.”

Akeredolu town is situated at Agbado Oke Aro LCDA, in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
