Lagos Community Youth Leaders set for annual leadership retreat

The Leadership of Lagos Community Youth Development Initiative (LCYDI) ably led by State Chairman Amb. Akanni Michael has started arrangements and preparation toward the 5th Annual Leadership Retreat of the organization.

The State Chairman, Amb. Akanni Michael confirmed this development during an interactive dialogue with Community Youth Leaders in Lagos. He said that this year 2022 will be the 5th Edition and will hold in Badagry Local Government.

“This year is remarkable as it marks the 5th year. The first Retreat was held at Command Area in Alimosho, Second edition was held at Agric Area in Ikorodu, Third edition was held in Igbogbo Baiyewu also in Ikorodu LG, fourth edition was held in Epe Local Government and now Badagry Local Government for Fifth edition,” Akanni stated.

The 2022 LCYDI Annual Leadership Retreat is special to the Community Youths in Lagos State as activities commence on September 30th, 2022 with a lot of entertaining activities and visitation to the Palace of His Royal Majesty, The Acran of Badagry and other notable figures within the city.

The state Chairman use this medium to specially appreciate all the LG and LCDA Coordinators and Retreat Central Working Committee Members including the Local Organizing Committee, who have shown serious commitment to the cause and given adequate support to the planning and success of the Leadership Retreat.

Lagos Community Youth Development Initiative LCYDI Annual Leadership Retreat for year 2022 scheduled to hold from September 30th to October 2nd, 2022. with the THEME: YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, A PANACEA FOR PEACE AND SOCIO-ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT.

“We have carefully chosen the theme for this year considering the economy situation, security challenges and important role of Youth as major stakeholder in governance and community development.

“We realized that government can not do it alone, everybody have roles to play as individuals and organizations; we have started engaging with all Community Youth Associations to commence the re-engineering of youths in their various communities to collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure our state is secure and safe for everyone by pushing forward the THEMES Agenda of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State.

“Our Annual Leadership Retreat, target training and re-training of Community Youth Leaders in Lagos State with delegates from each Local Government and LCDA across Lagos State. These and many more are the reasons we need to re- energize ahead, learn new skills, collaborate and build network among the Community Youth Leaders,” Akanni added.

The Chairman, Retreat Planning Committee, Comrade Maiyegun Olawale, who is also the Vice Chairman Lagos Central, however added that this year’s retreat promises to be igniting, interesting and productive as top recognized personalities and Community Development Experts have been invited.

We will also definitely have time to unwind, unite, network and connect with other Community Youth Leaders invited from other States in Nigeria that will come around and learn how we are doing it in Lagos. The second day, Saturday 1st of October, 2022; we are having a Fitness Walk in Badagry Town with Executive Chairmen in the three Council Areas to celebrate 62nd NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE and pray for our Nation,” Olawale asserted.
