“Ever since the directive came from the state that each CDC should have youth wing, the chairman have been working tirelessly to have a formidable youth wing and has been very supportive since the establishment of the youth wing. One of the reasons why youth wings or youths in community are established is because some issues or development will be coming up that the youths will be in the best position to handle them or involve in the matter because it is the youth that can develop the society, Omidokun asserted.”

The DPO, Agbado Police Station, CSP Aloko Amodu while delivering his lecture titled the role of youths in community security admonished the youths to stay away from any form of social vices adding that their cooperation is highly required in order to have a crime-free society. Ope Ilu Area CDC Chairman, Sir Kolawole Raphael while addressing the youths explained what community development is all about. According to him, community development was a concept, now it has turn to capacity building; is now an institution. Youths normally run away from it because they will say old men are the people who are incharge of the community, let them go and do it. That is an old concept, now we want the youths because if you leave it to the old carry over maybe difficult for you but when we are in it together now, trying to let you know the nitty gritty will be easy, the earlier the better. He then commended the youth wing for a well done job saying he is addressing the youth as a group for the first time, urging them not to relent and he want to see some of them as Area CDC executives in the next election. “Community development has gone beyond rehabilitation of roads and construction of gutters and culverts, he added.”
